This has to be one of the best apps for anyone regardless of age. If you own the iPhone or the iPod Touch then I recommend the Restaurant App from the Apple Apps Store.  This one is free and a great way to know exactly what you are eating the next time that you are out at a fast food or a major chain restaurant. Updates are done regularly as menus change and new brands are also added regularly.  Want to decide what's healthier at McDonald's - a Big Mac or 6 piece nuggets? Just click on your Restaurant app and select McDonalds to get full nutritional information, including caloric and fat content.  Non-fast food chains are also included such as Chili's, Ruby Tuesday, and Pei Wei (my favorite!). There's even pizza menu information for chains such as Papa John's and Pizza Hut.  All in all, this is app is a must-have for everyone who is interested in keeping in shape and wanting to know exactly what they are eating. I have't used the word groovy in a long time but that's exactly what I would use to describe the new Apple App for iPhone and iPod Touch.  Available for download for only $0.99 from Toejam Software LLC, this one is fun and a great way to know your mood throughout the day. Are you happy? Are you sad? This app uses special sensors in-built in your iPod Touch and iPhoneto sense your mood. Your color reading is accompanied by a few words that will describe your mood as well.  All in all, good fun and a great fun app from the Apple Apps Store.

And who says that Apple isn't a 'play-nice' company? In an unprecedented move, the Apple Apps Store has approved 3rd party browser apps as part of its offerings suddenly.  MacRumors reported this breaking news and points out that if you look at the dates on some of these, it goes back to October of 2008.  Web browsing applications were previously charged with "duplicating functionality" of other iPhone apps and was felt to be the reason why Opera would never be approved by Apple.  Regardless, if you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch then head on over to the apps store and check out these browsers, before Apple changes their mind! (Just Kidding!) There's a Grocery sale. What I mean is a great iPhone App called Grocery iQ is on sale right now over at the Apple Apps Store for only $0.99! That's a steal considering how much time, effort, and paper this great tool can save you. Forget about your old fashioned way of making a grocery list. I'm one of those people that needs to write down everything so when I saw this great app, I knew it was going to be very useful for me on my weekly trip to the grocery store. If you want to give yourself a really inexpensive gift to start out the New Year then buy yourself the Budget App from the Apple Apps Store for just $1.99. This one is perfect for helping you track all your expenses and keep yourself in line from January 1st onwards. Developed by Deskescape for the iPhone and iPod Touch this application, once downloaded, allows you to see monthly income and expenses very easily. This is a good basic app and it does its job. Nothing fancy but it will help you keep your money on track.

 

If you were once having trouble deciding which ipod to go for, here's another reason why you should opt for an iPod Touch. The iPod Touch can now be used as a phone thanks to a new software called Truphone. This software is free and you can get it at Apple's App store thru your ipod. Calls made using Truphone are also free, but you can only make them to other ipod touch owners with truphone, to customer's of ruphone's telephony services, and to users of Google Talk IM service, anywhere in the world. Now in order for this to actually benefit you, make sure that your friends have it and having WiFi at home can help too. You will need a wifi connection to make a phone call, since Truphone uses a wireless internet connection to connect your calls. Keep in mind that Truphone is not a replacement for an ordinary telephone service, as it might not be as reliable, especially since you can't make emergency calls using it. According to USA Today (which has the widest circulation of any newspaper in the U.S., averaging over 2.3 million copies each weekday), the free iPhone app leverages the look and feel of the print edition, promising mobile access to News, Money, Sports, Life, Tech and Travel headlines, interactive polls, GPS-enabled weather updates and photos. Users may share content email, text message or Twitter. The USA Today app, designed and developed in cooperation with Mercury Intermedia, also boasts support for rich media mobile advertising formats including click-to-call, click-to-maps using the user's GPS location and video.

I loved watching the Price is Right during my summer vacation while growing up. So, now I'm so happy to know that the Price is Right app is available for download on my iPhone and iPod Touch.
