So it is rumored that the new Ipod Nano and the Ipod Touch will be the hottest mp3 gifts this year. Now the decision on which to go for, is totally up to the consumer and who they are getting it for. For instance, if anyone out therewere going to get me an ipod I'd prefer the smaller, more compact, ipod Nano. Simply because I'd mainly use the ipod for listening to music. Both players have their advantages and disadvantages to each other. Let's see how they compare.
For starters, the 8GB Nano holds 2000 songs, 16GB Nano holds 4000, while the 8GB Touch holds 1750 songs and the 16Gb holds 3500 songs. The Nano is also available in [nine] more colors, making it more personalizable (is that a word?), as opposed to the Touch only being available in Black. The ipod nano is smaller which can result in less bulk when adding accessories like a skin or sleeve protector. Finally the Nano is about $80 cheaper than the Touch, and when you have more than one gift to buy this season, the the lesser the dollar signs the better. Plus it will save you money for something else (like the music?).
Now, if you opt for the Touch, you are getting a wide touchscreen, ability to store apps, and wifi. The new Touch might not store as many songs but, it does have a built-in speaker to listen to your 1750 songs without your headphones. The ipod Touch also comes with a polishing cloth, longer battery life, and a 32GB version. Even though, it's a little more expensive I think the wifi and the fact that it's a touchscreen might be dealmaker for most.
Both ipods come with earphones, usb cable and a dock adapter. They both have the Genius feature included, and accelerometer sensor. You can also engrave a personalized message on the back of your ipod, and add gift-wrap for free online at the apple store. Basically, the differences between these two is the size, touchscreen, wifi capability, applications and price. So in my opinion, if you have 4 kids and they all want ipods, go for the Nano, but if there is just one special someone in your life that wants an ipod, go for the Touch. Happy Holiday shopping!
